On a crisp spring morning, there was a good turn out of villagers armed with litter-picking equipment to clean Nailstone. It was also part of the “Do it for David” campaign to get rid of plastic waste from our environment. Numerous bags full of rubbish were collected, which included plastic bottles, foil, drinks cans, straws, sweet wrappers, fast food waste, cigarette butts, bags full of dog poo as well as a football, a metal fork and a five pence piece.
There is something very satisfying about using a litter picker!
Thank you to everyone that gave an hour of their time to make Nailstone a nicer place to live and to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough council for providing the equipment.
