Further to the ongoing complaints from parishioners regarding dog foul in the village, the parish council have liaised with HBBC who have provided ‘pink poo spray’ which can be used to highlight dog fouling. If you spot any dog foul then please  contact cllrharrison@nailstoneparishcouncil.org.uk and he will ensure it is sprayed.

We have also requested covert cameras for certain areas in the village to identify anyone allowing their dogs to foul and not pick up.

The Public Space Protection Order is Borough Wide and public highways are covered under this. This means that dogs have to be on the lead if owners have no control over them and will be issued with a fixed penalty notice if they choose not to. That also goes with dog Fouling.

The fixed penalty notice for this offence under the PSPO is £100 and reduced to £80 if paid within 10 days. However if the person is prosecuted and convicted then the Maximum penalty is £1000.

The Public Space Protection Order is covered under:-

Section 67 Anti Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014.

Also just for information. The fixed penalty notice for Littering is £80. This is changing from April so the fixed penalty notice for littering which also includes littering from vehicle is £150 reduced to £100 if paid within 10 days. However if the person is prosecuted and convicted the maximum is £2500.

Littering is covered under

Section 87 Environmental Protection Act 1990.
